Donation conditions

What a donor should do before donating ?

  • Sleep at least 5 hours
  • Have a meal
  • Bring an ID with him

Who can donate ?

  • Everyone 18 years old or older
  • Everyone who weighs 50 kg or more
  • Has a suitable hemoglobin percentage for donating
  • Has no disease that prevent donation

Thing that prevent donation :

  • A donor should not donate more than once in three months
  • A person who has been in surgery recently can't donate
  • If a donor had or has one of these diseases :
    Blood pressure, diabetes, Malarya during the last two years, kidney failure, hepatomegaly, chest disease, fever, rheumatism, thyroid disease, hereditary blood diseases and bleeding
  • Women shouldn't be in period
  • Women shouldn't have been pregnant. (3 months after giving birth)

How long the donation takes ?

  • 20 Minutes in total
  • The ideal duration between two donations for the same person is 3 months

Some recommendations after donating :

  • Recover for 10 minutes
  • Don't do a physical effort for at least 2 hours
  • Taking fluids to recover the loss
